Hours: Part time, (21 hours including, Friday to Sunday including evening working until 10pm)

We now have an exciting opportunity for Seasonal Rangers to join the CNPA supporting the delivery of the National Park Partnership Plan, working with partners to encourage people to have a safe, enjoyable and responsible visit to Cairngorms National Park.

The Role:

As a Seasonal Ranger you will work with visitors & residents providing on hand communication and advice; talking with people in clear, positive, engaging, persuasive and easily understood ways to encourage responsible outdoor access, meaning you will ensure that both visitors and residents get the most value from their time in the National Park.

You will work in partnership with public and private partners that manage the area and local communities, meaning you will develop great working relationships with various groups, people and communities around the CNP.

About You:

To be considered as one of our Seasonal Rangers, you’ll need:

In depth geographical knowledge of the “outdoors”

An understanding of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act and the Scottish Outdoor Access Code

Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills with a clear ability to communicate well with a range of audiences and deal with challenging situations

A passion for, and experience of, encouraging a wide range of people to responsibly enjoy the outdoors

Experience of working as part of a team in outdoor and countryside activities

Ability to work alone, without supervision, along with excellent team and partnership working skills

Current UK Full Driving Licence for manual vehicles and good experience of driving on rural roads

Flexible approach to working hours as regular evening until 10pm, morning from 6am and weekend working will be required.

Physically fit and able/willing to work outside in all weather conditions
