The Role:

The Cairngorms National Park Authority has recently commenced a project to create and populate a GIS based database of outdoor access, recreation and active travel related infrastructure in the National Park. As well as creating a definitive record of what exists, these records will subsequently be used to assist in the ongoing management and maintenance of infrastructure for which the National Park Authority is responsible.

We are seeking a paid Intern to support this by working with the GIS Officer and Visitor Services Team to gather, record and analyse a variety of data that supports the development and delivery of infrastructure and visitor management within the Cairngorms National Park.

About You:
To be considered as our Access and Infrastructure Data Intern, you’ll need:

• Computer and IT literate
• A knowledge of information and data management and GIS systems - ideally with some knowledge of ArcMap
• Well organised with good planning skills
• Able to work unsupervised and to own initiative
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Pursuing a further or higher education course/qualification in a related subject
• Permission to work in the UK
